Skiddaw View Holiday Park is nestled into a hillside providing panoramic views of Skiddaw and the Cumbrian fells. Our rural location offers a peaceful and quiet setting, however our setting means that the holiday park is very steep in places however we provide a beautiful location from which to enjoy your holiday. Our closest villages are Bothel and Bassenthwaite, which are 1.5 miles and 6 miles, respectively. We are located 7.6 miles from the market town of Cockermouth and 12.5 miles from Keswick.
We offer a range of self-catering holiday caravans and timber lodges, sadly however at the moment we don't offer any homes for those with specific access requirements.
The park offers laundry facilities, children's play area, Wi-Fi (from some areas of the park) and of course our park animals – Fidel, the alpaca and our Jacob sheep and pygmy goats who are all a big attraction for young and old).
Nearby we a selection of eateries including: The Greyhound Inn, The Great Escape Coffee Shop (at the Moota Garden Centre) and the Craggs Coffee House – all of which offer great locally produced food.
We look forward to welcoming you. If you have any queries or require assistance our staff will be more than happy to discuss whatever questions or concerns you may have, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us. Please call us on 016973 20919 or email office@skiddawview.co.uk.

A copy of this access statement is available in large print and via post or email upon request.
Our rural location means that public transport is not ideal for guests visiting Skiddaw View. We would strongly suggest that visitors do have their own transport available.
Upon entering the holiday park, car parking is available for new arrivals outside the shop and reception. This surface is steep tarmac with minimal dusk till dawn lighting available.
The laundry is located in the building opposite the Sales Suite and Office. Parking is available at the front for two card. The laundry has one step up (17cm high) and offers a door width of 70cm. The floor is tiled and the laundry offers coin operated top loading washing machine and front loading dryer (with complementary washing powder), sink and counter with iron and ironing board (94cm high). The room offers a maximum free floor space of approx. 2m2. The payphone is also located within the laundry and tourist information room along with a selection of tourist information leaflets and lending library.
The sales suite and office has a glazed decking area with five steps up on to the deck (a total of 80cm) plus an additional door threshold. Inside the office is carpeted. A doorbell is located outside the office on the decking should assistance be required and you are unable to use the steps.
Given our location the park is steep, however road surfaces are available throughout the holiday park, these comprise a mixture of tarmac and compacted gravel. Access to some of the holiday homes and play area are accessible across the grass.
The children's play area, which is located at the top of the holiday park features a modern climbing frame, the floor surface here is rubber. The play area is completely fenced with a swing gate. The playground consists of climbing frames, slide and rope climbs.
Adjacent to the play area we also have a bench. In the recreational field we also have a picnic area which consists of three picnic benches which offer joined together seating and table. The picnic area overlooks the neighboring fields towards Bassenthwaite Lake.
In total here at Skiddaw View we have 96x holiday homes, which consist of 11x rental holiday static caravans and lodges, which sleep up to four people, with the remaining holiday caravans and timber lodges being privately owned.
Our hillside location means that each of the holiday homes have at least two steps to access them.
Each rental property is fully self-catering and come with bath/shower rooms. Each property is fitted with fire extinguishers, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. All of our holiday accommodation is non-smoking. Please see individual property pages for more information about each home.
Regretfully, at this time none of our holiday homes specifically cater for those with access requirements.
Information about local medical support is provided within each accommodation as part of the Guest Information Folder as well as from reception.
Internet access is free for visitors and is available around the park.
